We were told one sold almost instantly.

A mashup of two NFTs — pictured left is the work of artist Eduardo Navarro and pictured right is an NFT by Linda Loh both illustrating the work of The Society Library.

This year, founder of The Society Library, Jamie Joyce, was honored with a 2022 Collective Intelligence fellowship from the Foresight Institute. Among the many ways in which Foresight aims to support scientists, researchers, and fellows, this year they also decided to launch an NFT gallery. In the exhibition, an artist is paired with a scientist, researcher, or fellow to create an NFT about their work.

In the 2022 exhibition, two artists made NFTs inspired by the work of The Society Library. Both were sold, and we were told one of these NFTs sold almost immediately after being listed — wow, thank you so much! As a part of this NFT exhibition, The Society Library will be distributed a portion of the sale.

One NFT, called “Orb of learning” (linked to and pictured above) was made by artist Linda Loh, and purchased by @mannersmaketh (again, thank you so much!!). @mannersmaketh also appears to have purchased “Fractal knowledge” which was made by artist Eduardo Navarro about The Society Library (linked to and pictured below).

Our deep gratitude to @mannersmaketh (whoever you are!), Linda Loh, Eduardo Navarro, and the Foresight Institute. Thank you so much for supporting our work either directly or indirectly! We were honored to be beneficiaries of, and participants in, this NFT exhibition.

Note: If anyone named in this article prefers not to be identified, then please let us know and we will remove your name from this article immediately. We only list information available from publicly accessible sources, and we assume handles (such as @mannersmaketh) are not descriptive enough to identify our generous supporters.
